Premature twins grow to a healthy weight following continuous KMC

Twins born too soon

Kiran & Pradeep* welcomed their twins - a son and a daughter - into the world in March 2025. The babies had a difficult beginning because they were born too soon, with birth weights of 1831 grams for the boy and 1925 grams for the girl. Notwithstanding the difficulties, Kiran & Pradeep's journey quickly turned into a story of love, persistence, and the life-changing effect of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC).

KMC at the hospital and at home

The parents were committed to giving their children the best possible chance from the start. They started practicing KMC at the hospital and continued it with full dedication at home with the help and direction of the KMC nurse. The infants grew stronger every day as a result of the unwavering love, care, and strong attachment.

Two healthy babies

When Kiran & Pradeep returned their infants to the hospital in May for a check-up, the outcomes were nothing short of amazing. The baby girl's weight had increased to 3275g, an amazing gain of 1350g, while the baby boy's weight had climbed by more than 1550g, to 3398g.

Kiran & Pradeep's success story is an inspiring example of how timely, attentive care, love and dedication can make a life-changing difference for premature babies. Today, their twins are doing well, and their parents' gratitude serves as a reminder of the transformative power of healthcare professionals in neonatal care.

This success story is not only a celebration of the babies’ health but also a shining example of the impact of Kangaroo Mother Care in helping the most fragile little lives grow stronger.
