About Ansh
Ansh is dedicated to saving newborn lives by building healthcare capacity in government hospitals in India. Our mission is to create a scalable and cost-effective model that implements and promotes Kangaroo Mother Care and other impact focused newborn care best practices.
Our main intervention, Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), is a highly cost-effective and scientifically proven intervention for saving newborn lives, which includes:
-
Skin-to-Skin Contact between baby and caregiver to regulate the infant’s body temperature, reducing hypothermia
-
Close Monitoring of mothers and newborns for danger signs
-
Exclusive Breastfeeding, providing benefits to the infant's immune system and helping with weight gain.
We now have more than 130 on-ground full-time staff, 4 implementation partners, and 9 core team members delivering our programs in 10 District Hospitals. We estimate a neonatal mortality reduction of 33-50% as a result of Ansh programs, and plan to scale our life-saving work to 15 District Hospitals across Rajasthan by the end of the year.
Position Overview
The Growth Manager will identify high-impact states and districts for Ansh expansion, including priority states (such as Madhya Pradesh (MP), Uttar Pradesh (UP), Jharkhand, and similar high-burden areas), build government and implementation partnerships, and lead the operational setup and launch of 1–2 hospital pilots. In this role, you will run rigorous location scoping, rapid facility readiness assessments, coordinate recruitment, procurement and space preparations, facilitate training and on-site mentoring, and ensure pilots are operational from day one—troubleshooting logistics and quality issues with partners while maintaining clear, practical reporting to senior leadership.
Success in this role is measured by successful identification of suitable regions for cost-effective expansion, timely, well-functioning pilot launches and actionable learning that enables scaling. This is a field-facing, hands-on role that requires extensive travel to the listed priority states and their districts for scoping, set-up, training and supervision; strong comfort with frequent travel and working on the ground is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Scoping and Partnerships
-
Conduct rigorous scoping to identify high-impact geographies for program expansion, prioritising regions with high newborn mortality rates.
-
Assess government interest, facility readiness, and potential implementation challenges in new geographies.
-
Foster strategic partnerships with government agencies, implementation organisations, and other relevant stakeholders to support scale-up.
Pilot Preparation & Launch
-
Support partner organisations to prepare for hospital pilots: advise on recruitment, space planning, procurement/inventory, basic infrastructure and logistics.
-
Coordinate and oversee on-site set up activities (space repurposing, equipment placement, infection control, documentation) to ensure readiness for service initiation.
-
Facilitate training delivery and on-site mentoring for clinical and non-clinical staff ahead of launch.
-
Lead and coordinate the formal launch activities, ensuring operational systems, roles and data capture are functioning from day one.
Program Management & Operations
-
Act as the operational lead with implementation partners (IPs) to manage day-to-day pilot operations and drive progress against KPIs and implementation milestones.
-
Establish and maintain operational plans and simple dashboards to track service coverage, quality and program outcomes.
-
Troubleshoot operational issues promptly and coordinate required technical or logistical support across stakeholders.

Monitoring, Learning & Continuous Improvement
-
Use simple, actionable data and case reviews to identify quality issues and drive iterative improvements in care processes.
-
Facilitate reflective team meetings, learning circles and open feedback loops to capture lessons from pilots and build scalable practices.
-
Document pilot learnings and recommended adaptations for scale-up, and contribute to program guidance/manuals where relevant.
